On Thursday, day 11 the daily 745 meeting went long until about 845 today because of a lot more problems than usual. After that I spent a little bit of time with each of the supervisors trying to figure out the solutions to the problems that were brought up in the morning meeting. Since we were trying to solve some problems brought up in the meeting, Ryan and I were late to the 9 AM scheduling meeting that got moved to Friday since the shop is closed on Monday for memorial day weekend.  The scheduling meeting was a little bit different today because instead of scheduling work for all of the assembly lines, work was only scheduled for line one in an attempt to catch up on back order parts. Since we only had to discuss one out of the assembly lines the meeting was much shorter and everybody was in a great mood since it was Friday before memorial day weekend.  Another supervisor will be starting next week after coming back from back surgery so Ryan had a meeting with Bob to discuss giving some of Bob‘s responsibilities to the new guy Jerry.

 

On Tuesday, day 13, I met Jerry the new supervisor of maintenance and material handling for the first time. We had the 745 meeting with four supervisors now Where we started off discussing what everybody did on their Memorial Day weekend. After that we took a walk to the human resources department and had to give the temp workers time cards to the human resource lady so that she could log their hours. Then we took a field trip to Lowe’s home improvement store to buy a new piece of plumbing hardware for one of the sinks that got broken. After that I pulled folders for this weeks work for the rest of the day and then went home.
